Do we collect information using cookies and other similar methods?
Yes. When you visit our sites or use our apps (collectively “Sites” in this document), we can collect information about you automatically using methods such as cookies, web beacons and web server logs.
A “cookie” is a file sent by websites to your computer, for example to uniquely identify you or to store information in your browser.
A “web beacon”, also known as a pixel tag or clear GIF, links web pages, web server logs and their cookies; this technique is used to transmit information collected using cookies to a web server.
We ask for your consent before collecting personal information with the help of methods like these.
What data do we collect?
Our Sites use the following types of cookies:
- Technical cookies are only used so that we can provide you with the service you expect – without them, our Sites simply would not work.
- Profiling cookies are used to create user profiles, for example to take your preferences into account while you are navigating our Sites.
Thanks to these automatic collection methods, we can obtain “clickstream data”, i.e. a log of the content you viewed while navigating our Sites. The information collected in this way may include your IP address, your device’s unique identifier, browser characteristics, device characteristics, your operating system, your language preferences, referrer URLs, information about actions performed on our Sites, the dates and times of visits to our Sites and other usage statistics.
How do we use the information collected?
We use the information collected in order to:
- personalise visitors’ use of our Sites;
- provide content which matches our users’ interests and the way in which they use our Sites and
- manage our Sites and other aspects of our business.
How can you restrict our collection of this information?
Your browser can notify you when you receive certain types of cookies and it can tell you how to restrict or disable certain types of cookies. It also gives you the option to decline cookies completely but, if you do this, you may not be able to use all the features on our Sites.
In general, our Sites are not designed to respond to “do not track” signals sent by browsers.
What else do you need to know about third-party cookies linked to our Sites?
Our Sites may use applications, tools, widgets and plug-ins provided and operated by external companies, such as tools for sharing on social media. When you interact with these functions, they may also make use of automatic methods such as cookies themselves. In this case, the information is collected directly by the providers of these functions and it is subject to the privacy policies of these providers, which you can view. Despite the care we take when selecting our providers, Manpower is not responsible for these providers’ information practices. This also applies to the links to sites, apps or services operated by third parties which are not affiliated with Manpower that we place on our Sites (for your convenience or information).
Our Sites may also use cookies or web beacons provided by third parties such as Google Analytics, which enable us to analyse the use of our Sites. The information collected in this way (including IP addresses) may therefore be disclosed to these third parties, which may use it to perform their own analyses of the use of our Sites, for example.
